Tina + Todd tied the knot and I got to document it! Their beautiful wedding and reception were both held at the unique and historic Lovett Hall, part of the iconic Henry Ford museum. What a fun place to film! Emerald City Designs did the planning and stunning flowers for Tina + Todd’s special day. Jennifer, with Jennifer Boris Photography took all the still shots, and I was hired for my cinematography. There was no lack of great footage thanks to the big windows, good light, beautiful couple, and the amazing wedding venue - Lovett Hall Henry Ford Museum.

The bride and her special crew of friends and family got ready in one the rooms at the Lovett Hall. Hair and make up are always better together, and this group was no exception. The crew all wore matching tops and wore their hair down in loose curls. Once everyone was ready, we did some filming and pictures outside the building. Every historic door, wall, tree and track made for such unique backgrounds for their photos and wedding cinematography.

The traditional Persian ceremony was set up and performed in part of the Lovett Hall building. The tiled floor gave the room a historic feel. Tina wore a beautiful sleek wedding dress, accented with lace at the top, along with a delicate veil and sparkling headband. She was escorted down the aisle by her father, and her sisters and other family members participated in the various traditions of the Persian ceremony.

A bonus for getting married at the Henry Ford Museum, was that Tina + Todd were driven around the grounds by a black early Model T back to the reception hall. Because it was a beautifully sunny day, and the museum was busy, there were lots of “extras” well-wishing the newly married couple. The reception was set and ready for meaningful toasts to Tina + Todd, a lovely plated dinner, and a scrumptious cake by Sweet Dreams. After all the formalities, it was time for the festivities! The music was great and the dance floor was full thanks to Music Box Productions. Surrounded by the ones that love them the most, Tina + Todd’s special day is now well-documented to be remembered and cherished forever.

Tell us about the wedding
We had a wedding ceremony that featured the bride's Persian culture. It was officiated by one of our best friends who did an amazing job making the ceremony personal. Our siblings and friend's participated in a traditional Persian "sugar sweetening" ceremony. One our family friends designed and set up a beautiful traditional "Sofreh Aghd" with symbolic items meant to bring blessings upon our marriage and life together. We loved the personal touch that all of our loved ones brought to our ceremony.
The reception included a lot of dancing as both of our families love to dance! We even chanted for an encore when the DJ ended and he obliged with one more song! It was so fun teaching Todd's friends and family members how to Persian dance as well.

How did you two meet?
We met during our medical residency in Madison, WI. Todd was a senior resident assigned to help show Tina the ropes on her first day of clinic. We became friends and on New Year's Day, 6 months after meeting, we went on our first date.
How did Todd propose?
We were on a hike at Devil's Lake State Park about an hour outside of Madison. We were sitting on some rocks about halfway through the hike overlooking the lake, when Todd just casually asked if I would marry him. I thought he was just messing around, but I said, "Duh," and then next thing I knew he was bringing a ring out of his backpack and down on one knee -- "Oh, you're really proposing!" And of course I still said yes :)
What is one piece of advice that you could give brides-to-be?
Don't stress about the little things -- everyone is just happy to be there to celebrate with you!
And hire 97 Films for videography -- the day goes by so fast, it is wonderful to have something to look back on to catch all those little moments!
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
It was pouring all morning while we were getting ready, but magically the sun came out just in time for our first look and stayed out for a few hours through our pictures, and once we went inside for the ceremony, we could hear the rain start to pour down again. Rain on your wedding day is supposed to be a good omen, but I think it's an even better omen when it starts and stops at the perfect times :)
